Smart-UPS models are manufactured in August, but the exact week is not known until the manufacturing line is up and running. The week is stored on the unit and can be retrieved with either the Smart-UPS management module or the Smart-UPS Control module. You can retrieve the week from the Smart-UPS Control module by selecting the Manual option, entering the serial number of the unit and pressing the Start button.
Hi,If you are just looking for the serial number to find out what model it is, then I can't help you. However, if you are looking to find the exact model number, then you need to search for the serial number on the back of the UPS to find the model.
Example: Serial number(s) 80470 represents a Smart-UPS RT 3000 that was manufactured in August of 2004. The week is identified by the first two digits of the serial number. The week of 8 represents week 52 (the 52th week of 2004) while the week of 4 represents week 3 (the 3rd week of 2004).
The year is identified by the first three digits of the serial number, while week is identified by the first two digits and the number of days in a week.
If you need to find the week of production for an existing unit, enter the serial number of the unit and press the Start button. You will be presented with the week of production for the unit. You can now determine the current year and week from the model and serial number of the unit.
I've been looking at the information on UPS's website for you to try and find it, but it does seem to be a serial number of the unit. This is a major PITA though and I'm not sure if I'm going to try it. I figure since I got the unit brand new and still in the box, I should be safe looking for the serial number on the box.
I have an APC 650 SURT 3500 LT. I just orderd the APC/UPS Configuration Update Utility, and the current version is 1.0.3. I would like to find out the model # of the UPS, and was hoping you could help me?
First you need to know the exact model number of your UPS. To find that out, check the label on the back of the UPS. It will say something like this: MODEL: SURT3000Second, you need to know the exact serial number of your UPS. If you have the serial number handy, you can go to the support site and key in the serial number of your UPS. It'll pull up the exact model and model number for you.
Both the model and serial number should be on the same label or sticker on the back of the UPS. Usually this is on the back. Now you need to find this label on your UPS. To see the sticker on your UPS, slide the cover off the top of the UPS. You should see a label in the very back corner of the cover. 827ec27edc
